The Southeast Security Expo 2018 will encompass over 31,000 square feet of exhibit space and classrooms. In addition to over 65 exhibitor booths, there will be two educational tracts. One will be the technical tract and the other will be the management tract. Each tract will have four speakers which are experts in their related field.
This program is free to all current SAF technologies, Inc. customers and current employees of city, state or federal law enforcement agencies. If you want to attend the educational seminars, exhibits and lunch at the Speedway Club, the cost will be $89.00 prior to September 1, 2018, $109.00 per person between September 1 and October 1, and $119 after October 1.

Teacher from Sandy Hook Elementary
On the morning of Dec. 14, 2012, in Sandy Hook Elementary School, first grade teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis endured unimaginable tragedy. The heroic teacher is credited with saving the lives of all 15 of her students, by acting upon hearing the sounds of gunfire and locking them all in a small bathroom until the “good guys” came to let her know that it was over and they were safe to come out. Plus Kaitlin will have a book signing for her book “Choosing Hope.”

Major Greene started his second career with Charlotte Latin School on July 1, 2014, as the Director of Safety and Security. His experience began in 1981 as a Criminal Justice major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduation, he started as a patrolman with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. During his career he served in a number of positions and ranks within patrol, investigations, training, and administration. However, the positions he found the most rewarding were within Special Operations; he served as a SWAT operator, K-9 Handler, Chemical Munitions instructor, and Civil Disobedience specialist.

In 1979 I accepted a position with the Charlotte Police Department as police officer and for the next twenty-nine years worked in many different areas including patrol, investigations, traffic, and School Resource Officer Supervisor. After my retirement in 2007 I began my career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Police Department where I was promoted to Chief of Police 2013.

He has been awarded the 2015 Safe Schools Leadership Award from the South Carolina School Resource Officer Association and the 2016 Campus Safety Magazine K-12 Director of the Year. Kevin has presented on school safety at several events across the country, is a steering committee member for the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools, and an advisor for Safe and Sound Schools.
